At long last I’ve been able to complete my Tolkien Studies series (through 2021), having acquired vols. 8, 11, and the punishingly scarce 6. In fact, not being able to find vol. 6 is what set me collecting beyond my original scope two years ago, acquiring other items as a kind of consolation “in the meantime.” And it just kept growing from there.

Today is a good day.

Great to have a complete collection like that. Congrats. I wish they had stuck with hardbacks also (even if they were priced a bit higher).

The supplement is not out yet, and both will be shipped together.

That's my understanding too (I have Vol 19 on order since March). The supplement has been released digitally, but will not ship in physical form until the full Vol 19 is also printed and shipped - which hasn't happened yet, to my knowledge.

A special supplemental issue to volume 19 has been published: J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Chronology of The Lord of the Rings," edited, with introduction, notes, and commentary by William Cloud Hicklin; a preface by William Fliss; and a special introduction by the editors. The supplement will be available in paperback soon and is available electronically on Project MUSE. Individuals who wish to receive the supplement in print should purchase a print subscription to volume 19 (which can be ordered as indicated below). Print subscribers to volume 19 will receive both the supplement and the regularly scheduled volume.
