Worth saying that colours absolutely can be trademarks (though in this case, not). Cadbury's for instance has trademarked the colour purple with regards to confectionary.
True in the colours, but for book jackets the claimant would have to show that they were the first/only to use that colour. ?

I’ve never wanted to buy the original HoMe books as individuals, so I may just buy the mug instead ?. Nice idea to do.

I like the HoMe a lot more - probably would invite more questions from anyone in proximity to said mug, as well (of course that may not be a good thing, depending on how interested they are in learning about a remarkably strange 12 volume literary adventure).
