A thick 1996 book printed on cheap paperback-quality paper, but the library paid $128.25 for it. Are those unauthorized spinoffs known to members of this group?

A 1983 reference book with an entry on Tolkien by Jessica Yates that crosses four pages of small print. Damaged by me when I removed the call number sticker.
