Very nice! Hobbit, Silm, UT…. I’d love to see a photo of all them together, including the LotR ones and the red-ish Great Tales books (once HC puts out CoH in the red cover)

Great looking set of paperbacks: very classy

No. I did order though (with hope) but received the old version (albeit a different printer from the 1st Printing - and was ever so slightly bigger in size). I used the 50% discount and free shipping - so no great loss.......

There is a new softcover Inklings (with a Silver Cover) though.

Nice to see those three. It’ll be nice to see them next to the LotR books for sure.

Remy, I noticed that The Hobbit says ‘2020’ on the copyright page…..I’m curious about something:

Could you a post a photo of the list of illustrations?

I ask because the 2020 paperback has black and white versions OF the colour artwork in it (example: conversation with Smaug). So I’m curious if the version with this cover also has added artwork compared to the older incarnation of the ISBN, the earlier 2011 one.

Here’s the 2020 paperback (I’m on my phone so apologies that the link isn’t clickable: I didn’t want to mess with the formatting tools too much) : https://blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/prod ... 376055?a_aid=tolkienguide

I think that "2020" must be an error. The first printing of this edition/isbn was in 2011? (978-0261103344)

Yes, 2011 was when these black trade PBs first became available.

I’d say 2020 is right. The Hobbit that has the same cover design but is black instead of the new cover, was included in this boxed set in 2022. It was put as you see, with the grey covered LotR. It’s also impression 70 and I see from your above picture, the new edition is impression 73.
Sorry, but I’ve uploaded an older picture rather than a new one just so you can see the boxed set.
*edit* the ISBN is the same as you mention too.

The Hobbit (included in the boxed set) also has an error on the copyright page (I think). This should also state 2011 and not 2020. I assume that the error has carried forward.
