I have had this version for many years and I have to admit that I kinda like it. Some of those Soviet shows were pretty whacky and quite fun.

The version I have is dreadful quality and this looks much nicer, and longer iirc. Can't check right now but I am sure it is a longer version.

Absolutely, and again, much better than the version I have already Having a quick look across this, it is incredible quality. I absolutely love the way it cuts away to Zinovy Gerdt's narration and I think the closing credits are very nice with the music, which fits really well to the story.

I had to repair the subs on the version I had as it was full of errors.

"A great day to hang out and smoke" beautiful Tolkienglish haha.

There was another fan adaptation, animation called The Burglar of King’s Halls (2:47:41), made in 2010 and 2011 by two people, ‘Vaganov brothers’:
. One of them also played Bilbo, and the other played Gandalf.

Ten years after, in 2021–23 they made another version of The Hobbit based on their previous one and a radio adaptation, in 42 episodes (episode 42:
), it full it lasts more than 4 hours.
