As you wrote : The first poster with it on was a Dutch promo poster with translation by Max Schuchart produced in 1973 and limited to 2000 copies, I do not have this poster and have never seen one.

Thanks for sharing, Jan! I have never seen a copy before. A totally different design than what I had in mind.

I have another CD featuring the Donald Swann adaptation, this one is performed by Roderick Williams, Elizabeth Atherton and Iain Burnside. The CD is titled Classic Children’s Songs published by Just Accord Music in 2006.

Also on the CD is another Tolkien poem adapted by Donald Swann, Namarie, which is in elvish.

There was a different adaptation of Bilbo’s Last Song by Stephen Oliver for the BBC Dramatisation of the Lord of the Rings.

This was included on the Soundtrack Vinyl LP.

In the dramatisation itself, only 2 verses were used and they are performed partly by John Le Mesurier (1st verse), who played Bilbo, and by a boy soprano Matthew Vine (2nd verse).

On the Soundtrack, Matthew Vine performs all 3 verses.
