The release is coming up. Amazon finally dropped the price enough to interest me. I don't have the HC set (though it has also been available for very cheap at times!) but now I made the purchase through Amazon US.
Under $107 as of today. For those willing to wait, I would imagine you may be able to get a first WM printing for well under $100 within the next month or so. With so many editions in general, and with the 2020 HC set being exactly the same, it's hard to imagine this set generating the same interest and purchase quantity as the HC version did a few years ago.
I'll put some photos and feedback up when I get my set.

Here are some photos of the William Morrow illustrated set (ISBN and appropriate links in multiple other places in this thread). I just received mine today. It's nice, and I haven't found any errors or defects on a quick glance through the books. The books were out of order initially (H, FoTR, RoTK, TT) but I did get the correct books. I can't compare to the equivalent/earlier Harper Collins set initially printed in 2020 since I don't own it (other than a 5th impression of the Hobbit, purchased used). The printer is Replika Press Pvt. Ltd. (in India). I believe this is the same printer that printed my recently purchased Tolkien Companion and Guide from Harper Collins.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I do suspect that some retailers will drop the price soon.
Does anyone happen to know the current printing company (and which impression) for the most recent Harper Collins edition of this set?

Decent price drop
on this set right now (see link to Amazon US from a few posts above).
Just under $80 (USD) for the set from a reputable third party seller on Amazon. I suspect they're still 1st printing though I haven't confirmed (yet).
