British members of a certain age will fondly remember Bagpuss, Ivor the Engine and the adventures of a Viking called Noggin the Nog. The Canterbury Auction Galleries are having an auction of art and models from the co-creator of these, Peter Firmin.
This page from the Noggin the Nog book The Ice Dragon seems to me to have been inspired and a homage to a Tolkien piece :)
