Would you be able to share some context of just how rare this is? Obviously 1st printing from the 20's is something already.

This is a reprint of Tolkien's essay The Devil's Coach-Horses. It was first included in The Review of English Studies: A Quarterly Journal of English Literature and the English Language Vol. 1, No. 3 July 1925 http://tolkienbooks.net/php/details2.php?id=60



In the same year an off-print edition was also produced The Devil's Coach-Horses J.R.R. Tolkien 1925 http://tolkienbooks.net/php/details2.php?id=61 and is very scarce, I can't imagine many copies were printed.

I see one other copy in my archive did not sell, at less than half the price. Perhaps it was sold via private transaction since then?

Yes i sold it shortly after , a bit of a regret in truth but needed the money at the time ????

If you are willing to share how much you sold it for, I would love to have that data point! No worries if not, though.

Pass on that - sorry , but the one on Abe i feel is significantly overpriced imho
