Alan Moore Return of the King reference

There's a new Alan Moore comic book out "Crossed Plus One Hundred" No.2 that references LOTR. The story is titled "Return of the King" and there are Tolkien references in a few places. One reference I can't figure out is the cover image (attached) - which is supposed to be based on a sci-fi fantasy book cover... but I can't find a JRRT book cover that resembles this.

More CPOH covers posted here (others reference Canticle for Liebowitz and Ralph 124C 41+): https://theperiodicfable.wordpress.com ... e-hundred-variant-covers/
