Wiseman writes to Tolkien in reply to an earlier letter from Tolkien, Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Christopher Wiseman • c. February 1917 (#1582)[1] in which Tolkien had replied about the "epic" Wiseman suggests he start on. Wiseman wanted him to begin this as it would bring all of this poetry together into a more understandable form.

Wiseman returns more of Tolkien's poems and offers criticism. He mentions again Smith's poetry and if anything can be done to get them published.

Found with the 'Tolkien Papers, Bodleian Library, Oxford'.
