Wheeler returns Tolkien's note (written some time earlier) on the name 'Nodens' with a proof.^{Reprinted in Tolkien Studies 4, 2007.[2]}

Bodleian Library archives note that "there are manuscript notes by Tolkien on the verso relating to 'Lydney'".
