TCG Letter #1748

Allen Mawer, of the English Place-name Society, replies to Tolkien's letter ^{Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Allen Mawer • c. 3 and 11 December 1931 (#1746)[1]} on Lydney. He says that he himself has looked into the name but has not been able to come to any concrete conclusions.

The Bodleian Library also remark that Mawer states "that he will look for his notes on the place name, 'Lydney'".
