Tolkien apologizes for making Doris Sykes "anxious", explaining that had been very busy. He says that the publisher does not intend to make an illustrated edition of The Lord of the Rings.

The response to her paintings has been good with the people he has shown them to and he would like to see more. He closes asking if she would like her "former set" back?
