He delves into the fate of mortals and Elves, their connections to paradise, and the Half-elven's ability to choose their fate. Tolkien offers to send a copy of the chronology of the Second and Third Ages. The letter concludes with Tolkien expressing the need for a reprint of The Fellowship of the Ring.
