The suit claims at least $80 million in damages from unauthorized merchandising of the Tolkien books.

Mere weeks before the release of the long-anticipated film version of The Hobbit, the estate of author J.R.R. Tolkien has sued the film's producers claiming they are overstepping their rights when it comes to merchandising the property and The Lord of the Rings.

Lawyers must love these cases.

I think they're just a little annoyed at the Tolkien-gambling association. And, I'm sure they have a few bob to spend after taking them to the cleaners the last time!

The problem, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is that the defendants of the lawsuit have breached the contract with the creation of the “highly offensive” slots games. Probably, this is just a misunderstanding between the two parties. I hope this will settle soon.
