John Garth's Tolkien and the Great War was just released as an ebook in the USA in November, so for those of you who have been waiting to read this excellent book, this is a great opportunity.
Shippey's Road to Middle-earth is a classic.
Not sure if this one is on sale today, but a great price nonetheless (it is the complete one-volume edition):

And already the Garth book has jumped up to $9.99 (still not a bad price for the Kindle eBook). It was $3.99 at the time this was posted.
The Road to Middle-earth is still showing $2.99, and Rateliff's complete History of the Hobbit is still $1.99

That price for Rateliff's History of the Hobbit is very good.

Is there a way to set up notifications for when books go on sale?
I didn't have
The Road to Middle-earth, but I didn't get round to see the post until the price had gone back to the standard ...

Good question
Troels, I haven't figured out anything other than manual checking and reports from friends so far. I think there are some possibilities for programmatically setting up watchlists that I am working on software for.
EDIT:
https://camelcamelcamel.com/features#alerts offers alerts that you can set up, so it clearly is possible. I have not tried their service - if anyone does, let me know if you like it.

As someone pointed out to me just now, the second volume of Scull/Hammond's new Companion and Guide is on sale as a Kindle eBook on amazon.co.uk for a nice £5 right now. Of course, volumes 1 and 3 are not on sale... You have to be in a region that allows kindle purchases from the uk site to be order to take advantage of this. Hopefully the other volumes will go on sale someday too.
