Extremely Fine Copy of Fantasy Classic Tolkien (J.R.R.) The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, 8vo L. (George Allen & Unwin Ltd. Museum Street) 1937, First Edn. hf. title, frontis & 9 plts. (complete), map end papers, over leaf page at end, decorated green cloth with black lettering and design. Original pictorial dust jacket. Fine copy (some tears no loss), with original amended “Dodg(e)son” on back flap, Hammond A3q – 1,500 copies sold out of this original print run (3 months after publication). Excessively Rare, particularly in this condition. (1)

Sold, with a hammer price of €29,000.
