So, the whole Tolkien online community seems to be abuzz about The Children of Hurin. The interesting part to me (quoted from The Tolkien Estate website) was that it is "entirely in the author's original words". And, evidently, different enough from the other partial versions of the tale that have already been printed in various forms in The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, and The History of Middle-earth to merit publishing. Or, the Tolkien estate is cashing in on Tolkien's enduring popularity to release older material repackaged for the collector. Nah, they'd never do that... Still, I am looking forward to the release of the book and will certainly own a copy or two.

Michael Drout has a nice blog post on this same subject.
