My Uncle is visiting next week, and he likes Tolkien, especially signed items for £3.99 from a charity shop, I will give him the two hardbacks after checking if they are better than my current copies.
It's certainly feels quite near acceptable level for all three; quite near. Postage is free too. You still might budget for picking up individual volmes for less. But how much less? Maybe £200(v1) + £100(v2) + £100(v3) I suppose.

I think your estimates all sound about right - could probably hunt for better individual deals, but given the nice condition of these the price feels about right for a full set all at once.
