I'm lucky enough to have an article coming out in this issue--thanks so much to the editors of TS for giving me this opportunity!

Regardless of what you all think of my argument--some will understandably be skeptical of an "allegorical interpretation"--there will be some excerpts from several previously unpublished or little known Tolkien letters that might interest you all.

I am extremely grateful to the Tolkien estate for the permission to quote from these letters.

Sorry to hear that Jlong's article has been delayed until Tolkien Studies 18 due to delays in getting copyright permissions.

Note: The article by Josh B. Long previously announced has been pulled due to delays in copyright permissions, and is expected to appear in TS 18. It has been replaced by an article by Hamish Williams.

Thanks, Urulókë.

There was a bit of a mix-up/miscommunication between me and TS; since it is my article, I take responsibility for it.

Long story short is I had the option to cut the excerpts from the unpublished letters and publish the article this year or cut my article and move it to next year.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the Tolkien Estate about permissions--I sure hope they grant me permission.

Good on you for sticking to what you want to present. Too often an article feels like it needed some primary writings to give it a finished feel so I hope you receive permission and look forward to reading your article.
