I was wondering if anyone has seen this poster before.
It is 22x16 inches and appears to have been printed by Houghton Mifflin in anticipation of the publishing of The Silmarillion. It has some color elements of the UK cover and comes with a letter from Houghton announcing the release of the US edition.
A bookstore display maybe?
Thanks in advance for any insights.

This looks remarkably similar to the folded map poster that came with the Caedmon Records "The JRR Tolkien Soundbook" vinyl record.
Very cool find! I hadn't ever seen one before.

I've seen it once before, about four years ago on eBay for sale with a copy of the first US edition. Don't have any info on it unfortunately.
