The Hobbit 50th Anniversary Booklet

Published by Unwin Hyman, 1987, Commemorative Booklet. Signed by the editor, Brian Alderson.

I have been doing a bit of research on the 50th Hobbit Anniversary booklet over the past few months. Searching around and asking dealers in the UK put me in touch with Brian Alderson. Through correspondence with a 3rd party as he does not have email, he offered me a signed copy. He is in his nineties now and his hands are a bit shaky, but he did it nonetheless. A fine edition under The Hill.

That is a tremendous item. He has an almost Tolkien spidery look to his writing Congrats Mr. Underhill.

Great stuff! Not jealous at all, honest. I’d imagine his signature in these is quite rare. I’ve never seen it before anyway.
