From a consistency standpoint, I really wish The Hobbit and LotR books had "TOLKIEN" on their spines instead of "J.R.R. Tolkien".

I have not been informed of this, but the difference would appear to be TOLKIEN on the spine for titles edited by Christopher, J.R.R. Tolkien for works that he did not edit.

On the ones I own, it's written "J.R.R. Tolkien" except for "Tales from the perilous realm" and "The nature of Middle-earth". So it seems that even the books edited by Christopher Tolkien can have the name "J.R.R. Tolkien".

That was how it was done in the past, but I was talking about the author names on the new 'signature' paperbacks, which seem to be following the pattern I mentioned.

Trotter! Keep the photos coming as new volumes come in. I probably won't be buying most of these myself but they're very nice looking paperbacks and it's great to see them all lined up.
