The listing on ebay is mine. I have a 1st impression, and a 2nd impression; I have decided to sell my second impression.

I also have a 2nd impression 1970 pleasure in reading copy.

It was found in a charity shop in South London by a local librarian and then sold on ebay. There is damage to the spine but the text block and maps are in good nick.

I'm after some advice regarding the Longmans Pleasure in Reading Hobbits Value.

Is there a value difference between the 1968 and the 1970 edition? Also what would be a fair price to pay for a copy these days.

What would you pay for a poor condition copy, good copy and a very good copy?

Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Definitely not more than £1000 unless it is in incredibly good condition. I'd personally say quite a bit less. I feel like they peaked a year or so back. Tom Ayling has one of Trotter's copies and it has been up a week or two now. https://www.tomwayling.co.uk/product-p ... e-hobbit-longmans-edition

Hello all. I have a copy of the 1970 edition .. purchased for a dollar or so from a university library sale in Western Australia decades ago, and now residing with me in Tokyo. The book was in terrible shape then and has not improved in the intervening years (the tape was there on purchase). But it is mine, and it is beautiful (?).

Does it have library stamps in it?
