The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, UK 5th with Jacket. Shipping from UK to US too high for me, since I really want a US 1st Edition with DJ. Hopefully someone here will benefit?

I saw that earlier this afternoon, wow. It's a great edition but that's a wild price for that book.

It’s a gorgeous book, but indeed the fact that it’s going for over a grand is pretty wild

There's a deluxe edition of the Catlin-illustrated Chinese translation that's more in my price range:

As Trotter often says, on eBay you can charge whatever you want. A couple great examples lately of ~ It's worth whatever someone will pay for it.

Someone must have really wanted to complete a set, or were bidding with a parachute-account on their own listing to drive the market up. That's all my guesses!
