1st Edition 1st Printing Price

There are no dustjackets and the books are worn, that price is much higher than the current market I believe.

It is asinine. First off, no photos on a $25,000 purchase…
Being in damaged condition without any original djs should be less than even $10,000

Ignorant asking price. Even if the books had jackets, would be pushing it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I was in the shop and asked what Tolkien books they had in their inventory. When the staff person told me they has a 1st, 1st that was in "acceptable" condition, I had visions of perhaps getting a rebinding done. Then she told me the asking price.
