What is the best way for someone in the US to get something signed by Alan Lee?

I'm currently in search of a 1st Impression Deluxe edition of The Fall of Gondolin, which I'm hoping to get signed.

He signed quite a few FoG deluxes for bookshops (such as Toppings). Easiest might be to keep an eye out on eBay UK for one to turn up (I don't know the answer to how to have Alan sign things, other than via the usual book tours).

Alan doesn’t take requests for signatures or commissions the way some others do. However he has signed thousands of items over his career so if one is patient with the second hand market, the item you want will pop up in time.

I cannot see it happening at the moment, but in future years I could see Alan being a guest at events in the US such as the Tolkien Society's Westmoot.
