It is impressive but I'm underwhelmed, even with Grond included, despite all it has going for it. I mentioned before "Will I be able to resist the calling of this one? Well not if it equals Rivendell,or whisper it,surpasses".....well in my subjective opinion it doesn't measure up in comparison aesthetically. I'm not a fan of the mixed micro/macro scale perspective detail,as was the case with Barad-Dur, and for Minas Tirith it is too small. It is too influenced by Jackson's films for my personal tastes as I'd rather have something made by the company who had a major role in these films,Weta, yet I do perfectly understand the commercial pressures of the LOTR brand calling from afar and yes, Lego's Rivendell is heavily influenced by Jackson! Again this is my subjectivity and I do not wish to dampen any excitement. If it helps,I came close to purchasing but my line in the sand was equalling or exceeding Rivendell. Plus I now have to be selective due to space considerations. Something better is coming from lego and it might be a long wait but I feel it in the water, I feel it in the earth, I smell it in the air.
