Hello everybody,
I might have a chance to grab the Tolkien Deluxe Edition published by HarperCollins in 1992. I have searched online but haven't found much about it, do you know how valuable is it?

I don't want to pay too much for it but to be honest I have no idea how much do these books sell for.

Many thanks,
Max

I prefer the earlier Deluxe Editions to this one, the earlier editions have fold out maps, this edition does not.

I much prefer this edition, http://tolkienbooks.net/php/details2.php?id=454, though I do have this edition as well.

Yeah I agree with you, I prefer earlier editions as well.

However has any of you an idea of the price range for the 1992 edition?

I like how that one uses the design for The Return of the King, rather than the frequently seen (yet still great) Ring-and-Eye.

Price range on any book is what you are happy paying, if you think it is a good price then go for it, if not don't.

Wouldn't consider any triple-figure price.

Was going to say pretty much the same thing - first impressions of this edition command higher prices, but the later impressions rapidly blur together and are fairly easy to find.

I can tell just by how the book is arranged that it is off Tolkien Library. David has some real quality books, but you're going to pay very high end prices due to him simply being a book dealer and needing to make money. I'd suggest keeping an eye out for something cheaper. That price is Abit high imo

Was it reprinted?
